Holiday Arts & Crafts Markets in Santa Fe

It’s the time of the year when we’re all trying to find the perfect holiday gift for each member of the family, a friend, a white elephant, for your boss… It’s a hard thing to do, and if you’re like us it’s a stressful time to find that special something for the one who has it all (ummm dad?). Luckily, Santa Fe is a pretty good place when it comes to arts and crafts – with it being the 3rd art market in the U.S. and all we should be able to find a gift or two, right!?? right?

Well, to make things easy for you and I, the ArtWalk Santa Fe team decided to put this little blog together with a list of the Santa Fe holiday markets coming up… and if you happen to find that special gift, make sure to share it with us in the comments section or tag us in Instagram! Maybe it’ll inspire us or someone else out there…

Of course we had to start with our own holiday market! We’re super excited to partner once more with the Santa Fe Brewing Company, this time for their tree lighting celebration. Expect 20+ NM emerging artists, ornament decorating, live music, food from Fusion Tacos, and more.

Saturday, December 4

Noon – 6pm @ Santa Fe Brewing Company HQ (35 Fire Pl.)

If you’re a fan of colonial-style Spanish art like retablos, embellished rosaries, religious décor, etc., the much beloved Spanish Market will be hosting a winter market with many of their juried artist.

Friday, December 3 from 1pm to 9pm

Saturday, December 4 from 9am to 5pm

@ Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church (11 College Ave.)

If the art at the annual Currents New Media festival is any indication, we would expect to find really interesting gifts at this new Winter Artisan Market, taking place at their headquarters in Canyon Rd. They’ll be sharing the list of artisans and vendors soon and we can’t wait to find out who will be there, so follow them in social media at @currentsnewmedia.

Saturday, December 4

11am – 5pm @ Currents 826 (826 Canyon Rd.)

A very cool alternative to the regular holiday shopping, this mercado lets you buy, trade and barter with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists. Hosted at Wise Fool and organized by Alas de Agua, this is a “gente-fication/”people-fication” event.

Sunday, December 5

11am – 2pm @ Wise Fool (1131 Siler Rd. Suite B)

After being 100% virtual in 2020 due to COVID, String of Lights is coming back this year with 35+ artists. This wonderful market, which used to be hosted at the Farmers’ Market Pavilion, will now take place at Tumbleroot, who just opened fully to the public like last week or so. If you attended any of the past String of Lights events, you know its going to be full of talented artists selling all sorts of New Mexico-themed gifts (the Zia earrings are a hit!). Plus they’re bringing Santa back!

Sunday, December 12

1-6 pm @ Tumbleroot Brewery

The new Bosque Brewing Co. at the Santa Fe Railyard is putting together their first mini holiday market with 5+ local vendors, hot cocoa and treats for purchase. It’ll take place during Saturday’s farmer’s market. This could be a great opportunity to try the food and drinks at the brewery – which we haven’t done yet but have heard good things about it.

Saturday, December 11

11 am – 2 pm @ Bosque Brewing Co. (1607 Alcaldesa St. Suite B)

We personally loooooove Vital Spaces. Not only is it a great organization helping local artists have an affordable space to do their thing, but their monthly art closet provides free supplies for the community – encouraging everyone to unleash their inner creative. If the quality of their residents tells us anything, is that this makers market is going to be amazing!

Friday, December 17

5-9 pm @ Farmers’ Market Pavilion

ArtWalk Santa Fe teams up with Teatro Paraguas for their second ArtWalk of the season! With 15+ local artists, food trucks, face painting, and other kid-friendly activities to complement a very special performance of Teatro Paraguas’ “A Musical Pinata for Christmas,” their annual community celebration. The festivities begin in Teatro Paraguas’ 2nd Space at 12 noon. Teatro Paraguas performs at 3:00 p.m. on the Mainstage.

Saturday, December 18

Noon – 5pm @ Teatro Paraguas (3205 Calle Marie)

Arts & Crafts Fair by Enchantment Eleven

November 27, Noon – 4pm @ 2873 Trades West Rd.

Nifty Gift Show

December 3, 4 – 7pm @ Studio WFC (815 Early St., Unit D)

Case Trading Post’s Holiday Art Market

November 27, 9am – 4pm @ Wheelwright Museum (704 Camino Lejo)
