VENDING WITH US: THE ARTIST CLUB

ArtWalk Santa Fe aims to provide New Mexico artists, particularly emerging artists, with low-barrier opportunities to sell their goods and connect with the community. At the same time, we create lively events for the 400-1,500+ attendees that come to the event every month – which often includes music by local bands and food from beloved Santa Fe food trucks. This combination makes for a memorable event that is always fresh and fun for the whole family.

To simplify the process of filling events with a vibrant and varied mix of artwork, we’ve created a non-exclusive club and we invite all local artists to join. We do not jury the quality or type of artwork anyone creates, we only ask that it be your own original designs and work. Membership in that club grants you first notice of our next upcoming events, before the general public, and the invitation to sign up to be part of them.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL

The vendor club is not juried, we invite artists at all stages of their making journey and working in any medium to participate. In order to give all artists a fair chance to participate in ArtWalk Santa Fe and to keep the event fresh for attendees, we rotate new and recurring vendors at each of our monthly events. This rotation is at the discretion of the ArtWalk Santa Fe team and is largely influenced by the size and number of available vendor spots at each location.

PROMOTION

Participating artists & vendors are included in a wide variety of promotional efforts with the goal of getting potential attendees excited to come to each specific event. These efforts include Artist Spotlight posts on our blog and social media channels, mention on our homepage, and inclusion In promotional advertising (Facebook and Instagram ads).

FLEXIBILITY

Because we rotate the artists from event to event, vendors have the flexibility to choose which events they would prefer to be part of. A long-term commitment is not required. Sign up as often or as infrequently as you like. We also change locations throughout the year, partnering with various host businesses around the city, so no two events are exactly the same, allowing artists to try out a variety of contexts in which to promote themselves.

LOW BARRIER

There is no charge from ArtWalk Santa Fe to join the artist club. Some of our events will charge a vending fee, which will vary based on the size of the venue and scale of the event. We aim to keep this fee accessible, while supporting our organizing team and purchasing adequate advertising for the event.

JOIN THE VENDOR CLUB

The first step toward being considered for our events is to join the artist club by filling out this Artist Vending Club Form. When vendor spots become available at our events, exclusive notice goes out to artists in our club! Signing up for our artist club is the only way to participate as a vendor at ArtWalks.

Please note that the completion of this form DOES NOT signify you’ve been accepted into any of the individual ArtWalk events – this is only the beginning!

ArtWalk Santa Fe will send you a confirmation email letting you know that you’re in The Artist Club. An actual human reads all your information and sends the message, so we don’t guarantee an immediate response, but it will be sometime prior to the announcement of the next event. Expect around 1 event per month during the April-December event season.

What to Expect as a Vendor

STEP ONE

The ArtWalk team will email you announcing the next upcoming ArtWalk. You will read it and fill out the (much shorter) form inside that email. That form is the application for JUST that specific event and signifies your desire to be part of it, along with your booth preferences, if relevant.

STEP TWO

Within a few days of closing our event application, the ArtWalk team will email you to either confirm participation, or to let you know if you’re on the waitlist. We only maintain a waitlist if there are more signups than we have space for. If there are cancellations we will contact waitlisted people to fill the spaces up as they become available.

The artists who have been confirmed as participating will receive an additional email with all the details and logistics (location, parking info, etc.) around a week before the event takes place. This email will also include the payment link to pay your vendor fee.

STEP THREE

You will pay your vendor fee that is linked in the confirmation email. Artists who do not pay the vendor fee by the stated deadline in the email will give up their spot to an artist on the waitlist. Artists who do not participate (on the waitlist or who have to give their spot up) will never be charged a vendor fee.

STEP FOUR

After each event, the ArtWalk team will ask for some feedback on how the event went for you. This information is critical to our ability to receive the funding that allows us to provide these low barrier events, so we require that artists answer in order to continue being invited to future events.

PLEASE NOTE

Because of the limited space at each location, we often have vendor waitlists at our ArtWalks. Please be considerate and:

1) Cancel ahead of time if you know you won’t be able to make it (now-shows will be waitlisted for the next two ArtWalks after the no-show, and repeat offenders may stop being invited to participate at all)

2) Stay for the entirety of the event (your commitment to a space meant another vendor wasn’t able to participate)

3) Please be polite to the team – as stated, these events are very popular and we try to accommodate as many artists as we can.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE APPLYING

  • Vendors must be artists local to northern New Mexico selling their own original handmade wares. No resellers or mass produced items will be admitted.
  • No multilevel marketing companies or products will be considered for participation.
  • You must provide your own display, including table(s), chair(s), products, tents (when applicable), and payment processing method(s). ArtWalk does have limited availability of extra tables and tents, which are lent to artists on a first come, first served basis, and especially for those new to vending who may not yet have everything.
  • You will be responsible for collecting all your payments and taxes, and must decide for yourself what forms of payment you wish to accept.
  • By submitting your information and any photos/files you’re allowing ArtWalk Santa Fe to use those materials for any promotional purposes, including social media, digital promotions, press, etc. Your personal contact info and identifiable demographic information will remain private.
  • ArtWalk Santa Fe reserves the right to cease any agreements with any vendor in The Artist Club at any time, for any reason. We ask that you conduct yourself respectfully and considerately. We do not tolerate any forms of harassment or mistreatment to our team, our vendors, or our venues.
